Who We Are

Granite State Service Dogs is part of Filayson's Pet Care Center. llc. Mary Finlayson has worked for may years developing lines of pure bred dogs that have specific temperaments, good health and the strong ability to do different types of service work.

Disabilities include:
Diabetic
Military PTSD
Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome in adults and children
Adults and children who are developmentally disabled
Physical Disabilities
Autism

Mary Finlayson has created a specific 2 year program for each dog and handler. First a dog is chosen for the specific disability of the handler. This could be a puppy or an adult considering the handlers ability to work with a specific age.  Depending on the age, some K-9's already have a great amount of training behind them. Each team will work in both group and private lesson. They will train their dog to preform required skills out in public and the acts needed to address the disability.
This program is different than many that simply train the dog and then place the dog with the handler. These programs can cost $12,000 - 25,000 per dog. The main reason for the cost is that the dog is in training for up to 3 years. The cost of supporting and training the dog for that amount of time can be high. In Mary's program the dog is trained and in the home of the handler who attends classes. This cost effective program is often more reasonable for people to obtain a dog for their disability. A payment plan with a down payment is also available. This eases the financial burden of owning a service dog.
