Class Description
This class is intended for those who want to brush up on their skills and practice with their dog in the show ring. This class is great for both children and adults interested in Show Handling.
Danielle Furness has been involved in dog shows for over 30 years, starting in AKC
Junior Showmanship and the 4-H dog programs, and then continuing as an owner-
handler, and breeder of Smooth Fox Terriers. She continues to finish many of her
dogs to their AKC Championships herself and continues to develop her breeding
program further while raising a family. She has traveled throughout the USA and
internationally, showing and learning about the sport of dogs. She is a member of her
regional and national breed clubs and active in breed promotion and education.
She believes that to be an efficient handler in the ring you need to study and practice,
but it should be fun! A dog having fun always shows better! She credits so much of
her knowledge to her many mentors over the years, and says you never stop learning,
as there is always something new to learn! Danielle has volunteered for over 20 years
teaching youth in the 4-H dog program on how to show and compete with their dogs.
The last 5 years she has taught all breed handling classes and provided private lessons
for those who wanted to improve all aspects of their dog show world. She says one of
the most rewarding aspects in dogs is seeing others you have helped succeed.
Danielle says her goal is always to present a class that is welcoming to all, fun, detail-
oriented, flexible (as everyone’s goals as different), and helpful on an individual level.
Teaching breed handling classes, she understands that there are all levels of handlers
and dogs, and has experience in teaching in that situation and works on balancing the
overall class to benefit everyone. She enjoys teaching all levels of participants,
because we can learn so much from each other
Your purchase is non refundable unless the class is canceled. We will not cancel for snow unless there is a large amount. If the weather in your area is worse than what we have here you can arrange a zoom. We cannot discount or refund if you decide to stay home.
