Burrell Handling, where dogs come first!
We are a family business with over 100 years experience in showing dogs. We’ve worked with dogs and their owners in more than twenty-five countries spanning five continents. We’ve won multiple Best in Shows and Best in Specialty Shows, and more than fifteen different types of championships. We’ve worked with most AKC and FCI breeds working on creating well-rounded dogs. Together with our students, we earned more than 80 new titles in 2019! In addition, we have almost one hundred students to date who have won Best in Show. Our training extends beyond the show ring to virtually all aspects of dog life. We run the United States Temperament Testing Association. We have titled dogs in obedience, rally, trick dog and CGC. We have experience with tracking, protection work, assistance dogs, movies and television, problem dogs, etc. We specialize in training service dogs and dogs with aggression issues, helping them to become happy family members. I have a bachelor’s degree in pre-veterinary medicine and worked as a vet tech for several years. We enjoy applying techniques including obedience, massage, strength training and conditioning to develop individual programs for each dog to help them achieve their true potential.

This is a great work shop for those who are new to showing. Eight students will be attending with their dogs to work on all aspects of showing. They will learn about the point system, entering the show, types of leashes and collars that are best for their breed, how to get a championship and most of all handling skills for each breed specific dog. There will be alternating lecture and show handling throughout the four hour session.
Please note: If you bring a second you will be splitting time with the other dog attending. This means that Susan may not be able to full evaluate both in the same way. You must share time with the other dog without taking up extra time in class.
